The features are well thought out, and give you the option to run your lines in whatever manner works best for you. The only thing I struggle with (and it is not a deal breaker) is getting male AND female voices working with the same script. For whatever reason (and maybe I'm doing something wrong) I'll either get only the male or only the female computerized voice when I install it on a device. Note that this is after configuring each character to have specify gender assignments. Keep up the good work!
This is an app I always recommend to my fellow actors. It's surprisingly good for what it does, but there's one very prominent bugs that really limits this app's functionality. Right now, a line can only be assigned to one character. So if two characters, Bob and Joe, both say a line at the same time, you have to make a new character, 'Bob and Joe', and assign it to that one line.
It gets especially difficult with scripts for musicals, where almost all the main characters sing with a chorus at various points. It makes the character list super unwieldy, and when you want to filter a script down to just one character you have to remember to also select every single possible grouping that character is in. Hopefully this can be fixed at some point. You could treat it for the recording aspect as a unique character with its own voice settings, but keep it from cluttering up the character list by allowing you to select multiple options from the drop-down menu above where you edit a line. You could even visually incorporate it into the whole character color coded stripe aspect by just having multiple character stripes side by side.
Just doing that would be a huge improvement. And while we're on the subject of the actor color-coding, while it is a neat idea that makes the script interface nice and sleek, scripts with bigger character lists don't lend themselves well to the system. Sooner or later you'll have to make one character one shade of blue and another character a slightly different shade of blue, and then it become less helpful and more confusing. I don't suggest you scrap the system entirely, since it does have the advantage of not infringing the actual text's real estate, but maybe you could add an option to add icons.
